Ivanić: Dodik and Cvijanović are diverting attention from the crime stories of their friends

The Chairman of the Presidency of BiH and PDP leader Mladen Ivanić claims that the President of RS Milorad Dodik and the Prime Minister Željka Cvijanović have completely twisted his thesis on the coordination mechanism in BiH in order to create a false problem in political life and divert attention from the real problem in Republika Srpska – crime and theft in their circle, reports the Patria News Agency.

-Dodik and Cvijanović's statements that I want to take over jurisdiction in this area are a complete abuse of the thesis. Republika Srpska and the entities were not the subject of my proposal for a simpler coordination mechanism at all. I was exclusively talking about the cantons in the Federation of BiH and the need to enable the Presidency of BiH or the Council of Ministers of BiH to react because each of the ten cantons in the FBiH has the possibility, whenever they feel like it, to block BiH's European path – says Ivanić.

He explains that the problem of entities in the coordination mechanism in BiH has never existed. In other words, if Republika Srpska decides that it is against a certain decision, all bodies must accept it, and he adds that the Presidency has never had, nor will it ever have, the intention to make decisions contrary to the decisions of the entities.

-If Dodik and Cvijanović want to reduce Republika Srpska to the level of one of the cantons, then that is their problem. They are inventing political problems and dragging Republika Srpska into a story that does not concern it. However, I will never allow them to equate Republika Srpska with a canton – says Ivanić.

Ivanić claims that Dodik knows very well that he, as the Chairman of the Presidency of BiH, has no intention of taking over entity jurisdiction, but that the President and Prime Minister of RS now welcome this story so that Republika Srpska does not deal with topics of theft and crime of their friends.

-If Dodik and Cvijanović truly care so much about Republika Srpska, then they should immediately advocate for the urgent resolution of cases such as “Birač”, “Balkan Investment Bank”, “Bobar Banka”, Department Store “Boska”... Let Dodik publicly invite his friends and advisors Mile Radišić and Dragan Vučetić to return to Republika Srpska, thereby showing that they respect its institutions – emphasizes Ivanić.

Instead of concrete actions, says Ivanić, Dodik and Cvijanović will invent non-existent problems in the coming months to divert attention from obvious theft and crime.

-These affairs have been going on for too long. It is obvious that Dodik and Cvijanović owe people involved in them, and that Republika Srpska, while they are in power, will do nothing to fight crime and corruption. There is no greater damage to Republika Srpska than what Dodik and his team have caused, but now, instead of dealing with that, it is easier to invent political stories that are pure lies – says Ivanić.
