Tunisian Anis Amri, the terrorist who carried out the massacre at the Berlin Christmas market on Monday, was killed in Milan, Reuters reports, as carried by Patria.
No further details are available at this time about what exactly happened. What little we know is based on this morning's information from the Italian newspaper "Corriere della Sera" that an unidentified man, "most likely of North African origin", was killed in an exchange of fire with Italian police around 3 a.m. at one of Milan's squares.
According to "Corriere della Sera", police approached the young man, aged between 20 and 30, as part of a routine check and asked for his identification documents. The young man suddenly pulled a pistol from his bag, shouted "Allahu akbar", and fired at the patrol. He wounded one officer in the shoulder and attempted to flee. The officers returned fire and killed him.
