(Patria) – Italian anti-terrorism police forces discovered a missile and other sophisticated weapons during a raid on right-wing groups in the northern part of Italy.
Three people were arrested during the operation, two near Forlì Airport. Neo-Nazi propaganda was also found during raids in several cities.
The raids are part of an investigation into the connections between the Italian far-right and Russian-backed separatists in eastern Ukraine, the BBC writes.
The raids were led by special police forces from Turin called 'Digos', with support from police units in Milan, Varese, Forlì, and Novara.
The arrested individuals are Italian citizen Fabio Del Bergiolo (50), a former customs officer and activist of the far-right party Forza Nuova, then Alessandro Monti (42) who holds Swiss citizenship, and Fabio Bernardi (51), also an Italian.
In early July, a court in Genoa sentenced three men who fought on the side of separatists in Ukraine to prison. Two will spend two years and eight months in prison, while the third was sentenced to one year and four months.
More than 10,000 people have lost their lives since Russian-backed separatists in eastern Ukraine began operating in April 2014.
