Deadline set by opposition for release of arrested individuals expires

BELGRADE, (Patria) - Belgrade police have until 3:00 PM today to release all persons arrested during weekend demonstrations. The deadline was set by opposition representatives, who led the "1 in 5 million" protest on Saturday and Sunday.

Dveri leader Boško Obradović said that if this does not happen, the end of the current government in Serbia will follow.

We remind you that yesterday, demonstrators blocked the entrances to the building of the Presidency of Serbia for hours during President Aleksandar Vučić's address, and then protested in front of the Police Administration for the City of Belgrade. They demanded the release of all those arrested during Saturday's and Sunday's protests.

During the blockade, there were several instances of pushing and clashes between demonstrators and police, as well as unrest in the city center.

The Serbian Ministry of Interior announced yesterday that seven people were taken into custody on suspicion of committing several different criminal acts and misdemeanors during Saturday's violent intrusion of supporters of the opposition Alliance for Serbia into the building of Radio Television of Serbia and during yesterday's gathering in front of the building of the Presidency of Serbia.
