Ahead of Uniqa and Euroherc: Sarajevo-osiguranje is again the market leader in BiH insurance

According to data published by the Insurance Supervision Agency in the Federation, Sarajevo-osiguranje is once again the leader in the insurance market of Bosnia and Herzegovina, ahead of Uniqa osiguranje and Euroherc, with over 24 million KM in premiums in the first five months of this year, reports the Patria agency.

Sarajevo-osiguranje, according to official data from the Agency, increased its premium income by about 650,000 KM compared to the same period in 2016.

The published data also shows that this insurance company generated a premium income of slightly over 6 million KM in March, which is also the highest premium income in the country's insurance market.

The director of Sarajevo-osiguranje, Arif Kulić, did not want to comment much on these results. He told the Patria agency that the new management, appointed 11 months ago at the head of this company, continues with the company's stabilization and that they expect even better business results by the end of 2017.

Sarajevo-osiguranje has been operating under strong political pressure in recent months, after the Government announced its intention to sell a 45 percent stake in this insurance company. This has caused sharp reactions from employees and the professional public. Data was published showing that Sarajevo-osiguranje pays more in taxes to the federal treasury annually than all other insurance companies in FBiH combined, and that selling shares would be a very bad move by the Government.

Sarajevo-osiguranje is the most reputable and largest insurance company in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a long tradition in business. The company was founded in 1945. The company's assets are currently estimated at tens of millions of KM, and the company's annual premiums are worth just as much.
