Islamic Community condemns attack on Imam Beganović

Following the new attack on Imam Selvedin ef. Beganović, imam in the Trnovi jamaat, the Medžlis of the Islamic Community Velika Kladuša, the Office of the Reis-ul-ulema Husein ef. Kavazović issued a public statement which reads:

- We most strongly condemn the brutal physical attack on Imam Selvedin ef. Beganović and express our protest due to the inability of security organs to discover the perpetrators of the previous attacks on Imam Beganović.

It is disappointing to learn that police forces are unable to discover the perpetrators of the attacks and guarantee the safety of Selvedin ef. Beganović. We wonder what message the police are sending to citizens regarding their safety.

We demand that police organs take all measures to ensure the full safety of Imam Beganović. The perpetrators of these heinous attacks must be discovered and legally sanctioned as soon as possible to prevent the recurrence of such events, which could have even more severe and fatal consequences, reads the statement from the Office of the Reis-ul-ulema.
