Islamic Community condemns attack on Al-Aqsa Mosque

(Patria) - The Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina condemned the attack on the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, as well as the violence that has been carried out against the Palestinian people for decades.

"The world has been silently watching for decades the confiscation of Palestinian land, the destruction of property, and the persecution, oppression, and killing of the Palestinian people by the authorities of the state of Israel. What we call the 'civilized world' not only does nothing to stop it and bring the oppressors to justice, but often does not even condemn these actions," reads the statement of the Riasat of the Islamic Community.

It is also reminded that the Palestinian people are being destroyed, that all their rights are being grossly violated, and that tyrannical authorities are tolerated and protected from international courts and sanctions, allowing them to do as they please.

"The scenes we are witnessing these days from Jerusalem and from the Al-Aqsa Mosque, the third holiest mosque in Islam, are horrifying and bring indignation to the hearts of Muslims. The bitterness is further increased by the fact that this is happening in the month of Ramadan, when Muslims are dedicated to worship, fasting during the day, and spending nights in prayer and reciting the Quran. Attacking such people by sending heavily armed soldiers to attack, beat, imprison, and use tear gas against them is not only a barbaric act, but something absolutely unacceptable, which should have been stopped promptly," the statement reads.

The Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina strongly condemns the violence committed against the Palestinian people and holy sites in Jerusalem and calls for peace in the Holy Land.

"At the same time, we call on the United Nations to take action and stop this civilizational shame. We pray to God Almighty and appeal to the free world to take the Palestinian people under their protection, and to restrain their oppressors and bring them to justice," the statement of the Riasat of the Islamic Community adds.
