Islamic Community of BiH Condemns Brutal Murder of Egyptian Copts in Libya

The Office of the Reis-ul-Ulema Husein ef. Kavazović, regarding the brutal murder of Egyptian citizens in Libya, issued a press release stating:

- The Office of the Reis-ul-Ulema Husein ef. Kavazović strongly condemns the brutal murder of Egyptian Copts in Libya, as well as all other abuses of prisoners, terrorizing of the civilian population, and inhumane treatment of people.

Brutal executions and torture of people represent serious crimes and demand a serious response, not only to condemn and stop such crimes but also a commitment to eliminating the causes that lead to them. Therefore, it is not enough to punish the instigators and perpetrators of these atrocities; rather, the international community must jointly and responsibly work on eliminating the causes. Muslim institutions must be united in this direction, because these criminal groups deliberately work to compromise the teachings of Islam, the global Muslim identity, and culture.

The greatest victims of the brutal violence of criminal groups, whose atrocities we witness in the countries of the Middle East, are Muslims, either as direct victims subjected to crime or as victims of prejudice and suspicion in the West and East.

The Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, rejecting and condemning radicalism and violence, is actively committed to affirming the values of freedom, democracy, mutual respect, and cooperation among peoples and religions in their diversity.
