ISIL claimed responsibility and explained why it attacked Brussels

The Islamic State claimed responsibility for the terrorist attack in Brussels in a statement released today by the A'maq agency, reports the Patria News Agency.

"Fighters of the Islamic State carried out a series of bombings with explosives and explosive devices, targeting the airport and the central metro station in the capital of Belgium, Brussels - a country participating in the fight against the Islamic State.

Fighters of the Islamic State opened fire inside Zaventem airport, after which several of them detonated explosive belts, and at the same time, a martyr bomber also detonated his explosives at the metro station. The attack resulted in more than 230 dead and wounded, according to the statement, writes Index.
