ISIL fulfilled threats: Tomislav Salopek killed

Tomislav Salopek, a Croatian citizen kidnapped by Islamic State extremists in Egypt, has been executed, reports the Patria News Agency.

French AFP published shocking information on its Twitter profile, basing it on a news report from the website SITE Intel Group.

A photograph of disturbing content has also begun to spread on social networks, which, according to Islamists, allegedly shows Salopek's dead body. The photograph also contains an inscription in Arabic accusing Croatia of participating in the fight against IS.

The information was exclusively confirmed for Jutarnji list by a source from the Egyptian daily '7 Days' (Alyom Al Sabea).

Seven days after demanding the release of Muslim women from prisons in exchange for Salopek from the Egyptian government, militants of the Islamic State's Sinai Province published a photograph of Salopek.

The photograph first appeared on the microblogging service Twitter on August 12 and included a description accusing Croatia of participating in the war against ISIL.
