(Patria) - The Appeals Committee has made a second-instance decision in the case of "Damir Vejo", stating that preventive suspension is only possible once the indictment against the civil servant has been confirmed.
We remind you that Vejo was suspended from the position of Director of the Police Academy.
The Appeals Committee also stated this position in a previous decision that overturned the first suspension decision of June 16, 2022, which is evidence supporting the claim that the actions of the former minister Aljoša Čampara in applying the Law were arbitrary and contrary to the instructions of the appellate body, regarding which Vejo Damir filed a criminal complaint against him on November 11 last year.
Now the entire case has been transferred to the new Minister of Internal Affairs, Ramo Isak, and the question arises whether the new minister will follow the concept of the previous policy or respect the decision of the Appeals Committee. Isak has already had his "baptism of fire" in the case of appointing the acting director of FUP, which was completely headless at one point. And now Minister Isak must resolve the "Damir Vejo" case.
Upon receiving the decision, Vejo immediately submitted a request for the restoration of his full employment status.
The initial disciplinary procedure was conducted based on the decision of the Minister of Internal Affairs of FBiH, Aljoša Čampara, who reported in May 2022 that Vejo, in the period from 07/12/2019 to 12/22/2021, caused material damage to the FMUP budget regarding the use of the Ministry's official vehicle, thereby abusing and exceeding his official authority.
