(Patria) - Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian called on Israel to stop its attacks on Gaza, warning that the war could spread to other parts of the Middle East if Hezbollah joins the battle.
Amirabdollahian told reporters in Beirut that the Lebanese group Hezbollah has taken into account all war scenarios and that Israel should stop its attacks on Gaza as soon as possible. Otherwise, it will suffer a "major earthquake".
The Iranian top diplomat met with Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, who informed him of the plans and conditions they have.
"I know the scenarios set by Hezbollah. Any step the resistance (Hezbollah) takes will cause a huge earthquake in the Zionist entity," he said.
Amirabdollahian added: "I want to warn the war criminals and those who support this entity before it is too late to stop the crimes against civilians in Gaza, because it might be too late in a few hours."
The Israelis have been targeting the Gaza Strip for several days after the Palestinian militant organization Hamas attacked Israeli territory. Several senior Hamas officials and numerous civilians have been killed, after which Israel warned foreigners to leave the Gaza territory within the next few hours.
