Iranian President Pezeškijan confirms Iranian side's participation in peace talks in Pakistan

(Patria) - Iranian President Masoud Pezeškijan commented for the first time on the ceasefire agreement reached with the United States.

"The ceasefire, which includes the general principles that Iran insisted on, is the fruit of the blood of our great leader and martyr Hamenei and an achievement realized by the presence of the entire nation," Pezeškijan announced on social network X.

He was referring to the former Iranian Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was killed in US-Israeli airstrikes on Tehran on February 28, at the beginning of the war. Pezeškijan stated that the Iranian nation will "remain united" as the country enters a two-week ceasefire with the US.

Donald Trump confirmed last night that he had received the Iranian 10-point plan as part of the ceasefire agreement. The proposal, the details of which were published by Iranian state media, includes Iran taking control of the Strait of Hormuz and the withdrawal of all US troops from the Middle East.

Pezeškijan also spoke with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and during the conversation, Iran's participation in peace talks in Islamabad later this week was confirmed.
