The Iranian Majlis, the country's unicameral parliament, will hold a meeting today to consider the interim results of the first round of negotiations with the United States on Iran's nuclear file, said the deputy chairman of the parliamentary committee for national security, Abbas Moqtadaei, TASS reported.
"At a closed meeting tomorrow, the Majlis will discuss the progress of talks between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States. Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will likely attend the meeting," he told the IRNA news agency on Sunday.
A new round of talks between Iran and the US on resolving the crisis over Iran's nuclear program was held on February 6 in the capital of Oman. The Iranian delegation was led by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, and the US delegation by special presidential envoy Steve Witkoff.
According to the Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al-Busaidi, the Iranian and US delegations held very serious consultations in Muscat on Iran's nuclear program and intend to continue the dialogue.
