(Patria) - The Iranian army claims it prevented American destroyers from entering the Strait of Hormuz.
Iranian state media report that the army's public relations department announced:
"With a firm and swift warning from the Navy of the Islamic Republic, the entry of American and Zionist enemy destroyers into the Strait of Hormuz was prevented."
A high-ranking American official denied the report that a ship was hit by Iranian missiles near the Strait of Hormuz, Axios reports.
US President Donald Trump had previously warned that any action that interferes with American operations "will be decisively stopped by force".
