Iran claims to possess documents related to Israeli nuclear program

(Patria) - Iranian state television on Wednesday broadcast photographs of documents and footage it claims relate to Israeli nuclear activities - something Israel, Tehran's sworn enemy, has never officially confirmed or denied, AFP reported last night.

The documentary showed copies of passports said to identify Israeli scientists, along with information on the location of military facilities.

It also aired footage said to have been taken inside the Dimona reactor in southern Israel, which is believed to possess the only, albeit undeclared, nuclear arsenal in the Middle East.

In the documentary, Intelligence Minister Esmail Khatib said Iran used
information obtained in June to attack sensitive locations inside Israel that month.
Iranian officials earlier, before the war, said they had obtained thousands of confidential Israeli
documents, including details of nuclear and military sites.

The documentary also included photographs of International Atomic Energy Agency chief Rafael Grossi described as personal, with one showing him kissing a person in a Minnie Mouse costume.

The documentary claims the photographs were obtained by Israel, accusing it of spying on Grossi. Since Israel's surprise attack on Iran in June, which sparked a twelve-day war, Iran's political leadership has openly targeted the IAEA and its director, accusing them of partial complicity.

Tehran has sharply criticized the agency for failing to condemn attacks by Israel, and later the United States, on its nuclear facilities.

The broadcast of the documentary comes amid renewed tensions between Iran and Western states over the Islamic Republic's nuclear activities.

The West, led by the United States and backed by Israel, accuses Iran of making nuclear weapons, which Tehran denies, insisting its atomic program is exclusively civilian in nature.

Israel sees Iran's nuclear program as an existential threat.

Iran and Israel have been waging a shadow war for years, marked by Tehran's arrests of alleged spies and accusations that Israel is behind assassinations and sabotage related to Iran's nuclear program.
