(Patria) - Iran has replaced air defense damaged during last month's conflict with Israel, the Iranian news agency Defah Press reported on Sunday, citing Mahmoud Mousavi, deputy for operations of the regular army, Reuters reported.
During the conflict in June, Israeli air forces dominated Iranian airspace and dealt a heavy blow to the country's air defense, while Iranian armed forces launched successive barrages of missiles and drones at Israeli territory.
"Some of our air defense systems were damaged, that's not something we can hide, but our colleagues used domestic resources and replaced them with pre-prepared systems stored in appropriate locations to keep the airspace safe," Mousavi said.
Before the war, Iran had its own domestic long-range air defense system Bavar-373, in addition to the Russian S-300 system.
The Defah Press report did not mention any import of foreign air defense systems into Iran in recent weeks.
After limited Israeli attacks on Iranian missile factories last October, Iran later showcased Russian-made air defense in a military exercise to show it had recovered from the attacks.
