Iran asks UN to call on the United States and Israel to abandon destabilizing policies against Tehran

(Patria) - Iran calls on the United Nations to call on the United States and Israel to abandon their destabilizing policies against Tehran, said Iran's permanent representative to the United Nations, Amir-Saeid Iravani, TASS reported last night.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran urgently calls on the Secretary-General, the Security Council, and especially its responsible members, to fulfill their responsibilities based on the Charter by unequivocally condemning all forms of incitement to violence, threats of the use of force, and interference in the internal affairs of Iran by the United States; to call on the US and the Israeli regime to immediately cease their destabilizing policies and practices and to fully comply with their obligations under international law; and to warn the US of any possible miscalculations in carrying out any acts of military aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran,” he stated in a letter to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and UN Security Council President Abukaru Dahiru Usman.

“The United States and the Israeli regime bear direct and undeniable legal responsibility for the resulting loss of innocent civilian lives, especially among the youth,” said the Iranian envoy.
