Iran hits building in Haifa with missile, casualties reported

(Patria) - Two people were killed in an Iranian missile attack on northern Israel after a residential building in Haifa was hit, Israeli emergency services confirmed.

Firefighters searched the rubble for hours for missing persons, eventually finding two people buried under the debris with no signs of life.

According to the army and rescue services, the missile directly hit a seven-story building, penetrating parts of the structure, which led to a partial collapse of the building. An investigation by the Israeli Air Force showed that the missile was not intercepted because it disintegrated in the air, reports the Times of Israel.

Residents of the area said they heard a loud detonation, followed by a gas explosion ten minutes later. The attack comes amid ongoing exchanges of fire between Iran and Israel.
