(Patria) - A loud explosion at a military factory in the central Iranian city of Isfahan was caused by a "failed" drone attack, Iranian state media reported late last night, citing the Ministry of Defense, Reuters reported.
"One of the (drones) was hit by air defense, and the other two were caught in defensive traps and blown up. Fortunately, this failed attack did not cause loss of life and caused minor damage to the roof of the workshop," the ministry said in a statement carried by the state news agency IRNA.
Iranian news agencies previously reported a loud explosion and shared a video showing a flash of light at the factory, which is said to be an ammunition factory, and footage of ambulances and fire trucks in front of the factory.
In July, Iran announced that it had arrested a sabotage team composed of Kurdish militants working for Israel, who planned to blow up a "sensitive" defense industry center in Isfahan.
