(Patria) - Iran does not want a ceasefire that would allow its adversaries to rearm and launch a new attack, said Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, Majid Takht Ravanchi. He stated his position during a meeting with foreign ambassadors and heads of international organizations in Tehran, commenting on the upcoming Iran-US talks in Islamabad, the Mehr news agency reports.
Ravanchi confirmed that it was agreed that Iran's 10-point plan would serve as the basis for negotiations. "The Islamic Republic of Iran always welcomes diplomacy and dialogue, but not dialogue based on false information aimed at deception and laying the groundwork for renewed military aggression against Iran," he said.
"We do not want a ceasefire that would allow the aggressor enemy to rearm and attack again. We have clearly told our friends that this situation will not be repeated without guarantees," Ravanchi concluded.
