Iran continues attacks on Israel, China criticizes Trump for 'adding fuel to the fire'

(Patria) - China has accused US President Donald Trump of "adding fuel" to the growing conflict between Iran and Israel, after the US leader warned residents of Tehran to "evacuate immediately".

"Fanning the flames, adding fuel, threats, and increasing pressure will not help promote de-escalation of the situation, but will only intensify and expand the conflict," said Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun when asked about Trump's statements at a regular press conference.

Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares says he sees no signs of de-escalation between Israel and Iran and calls for a return to negotiations on the nuclear program.

"Let's stop this exchange of missiles," he said on Bloomberg TV.

Iran's Revolutionary Guard claims that a new, "more powerful" wave of missiles has recently been launched towards Israel, according to the official IRNA news agency.

"A new wave of fierce attacks, especially by the army's ground forces, with new and advanced weapons has begun and will intensify in the coming hours," quoted Kiomars Heidari, commander of the army's ground forces.

Sirens have sounded in Tel Aviv and many cities in northern Israel.

"There were two direct hits from Iranian missiles – one in the Tel Aviv area and one in Herzliya. Israeli reports describe the missile attack in Herzliya as an attack on a sensitive site.
