Iran fired twice as many missiles at Israel last night as in April

(Patria) - Iran fired twice as many missiles at Israel on Tuesday as during its previous attack in April, according to the US Department of Defense.

- The attack on Israel was twice as large in terms of the number of ballistic missiles fired compared to the previous one - Pentagon spokesperson, General Pat Ryder, told reporters.

According to initial information available to the Pentagon, Israel was able to intercept most of the incoming missiles.

US ships, it was added, fired dozens of interceptor missiles in support of Israel.

- There was minimal damage on the ground - the Pentagon spokesperson asserted.

On April 13, in response to the strike on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, attributed to Israel, Iran fired about 350 explosive drones and missiles, which was the first direct attack of this kind on Israel. A Bedouin girl was injured at the time.

Israel intercepted most of these missiles with the help of other countries, primarily the USA.

Iran announced that last night's attack was a response to the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh and Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.
