INTERPOL's experience to be used by BiH police in fight against car theft

At the headquarters of the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of BiH, a presentation of the "Vehicle Identification Manual" was held today, attended by representatives of all police agencies from BiH.

Deputy Director of the Directorate, Mile Jurić, welcomed the attendees and explained the idea behind the creation of this Manual, expressing the Directorate's readiness to undertake such activities at the request of police agencies in BiH. In this regard, he emphasized that the Directorate's primary mission is to serve police agencies in BiH by improving communication, coordination, and cooperation among them.

Activities on the creation of this Manual were carried out by officers of the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of BiH, who are members of the Working Group for the implementation of the Council of Ministers' Action Plan for the Prevention and Suppression of Criminal Offenses Related to Motor Vehicles 2012-2015. The printing of the Manual was realized with the financial support of IPA 2010 "EU Support to Law Enforcement".

The Vehicle Identification Manual is intended for police officers working on solving criminal offenses related to motor vehicles, to assist them in identifying vehicles. The Manual systematizes the experiences of other countries, INTERPOL, EUROPOL, other agencies in BiH, and car manufacturers to facilitate the simplest possible identification of vehicles and the detection of any criminal offenses committed on vehicles.

Each law enforcement agency in BiH has been provided with a certain number of copies for daily use.
