Institute for Health: Recommendations for Pensioners Ahead of Pension Payments

(Patria) - The Institute for Health and Food Safety Zenica calls on all pensioners, who at the beginning of next week will expect postmen with pensions at their doors, as well as those who may have the opportunity to collect their pension at banks, to adequately prepare and ensure and care for their own health, as well as the health of others.

"It is necessary to secure, prepare and have a mask with you in time, as well as your own pen, to avoid contact and any possible channel for the potential transmission of the coronavirus. Before contact with the postman, be sure to wash your hands, but also wash them after contact with the postman. We emphasize once again that it is precisely the population and age of people receiving pensions that is most at risk, along with chronic patients, that infection with a virus for which there is still no vaccine or medicine brings severe, often fatal consequences.

If you have the opportunity to go for your pension yourself to banks or post offices, it is necessary to maintain physical distance between you and other people, both in the populated area and in front of and inside the bank, post office or other service, and also adhere to the instructions about your own pen, and after returning home, be sure to wash your hands," stated the Institute for Health and Food Safety Zenica.

Officials from postal services have already been informed about the measures they are obliged to apply, but additional caution is advisable for understandable reasons. Even so, it is best to wash your hands after contact and receiving money, and throw away the envelope.

Namely, it is important to know that your postman these days comes into contact not only with you and your neighbors, but also with a significant number of several thousand people who are in isolation or self-isolation due to staying in risk areas, abroad or virus hotspots - it was warned.

No matter how much we adhere to protection and self-protection measures, there is a possibility that postmen come into contact with the virus and transmit it further, which is why it is necessary and desirable for everyone to apply maximum protection measures.

The INZ called on pensioners to protect themselves and others by applying maximum protection measures and to avoid any close contacts.

"It is very important to emphasize that a significant majority of virus carriers show no signs - symptoms, and that contact with such people in the belief that your environment is healthy and uninfected can greatly complicate and make your life and health difficult. We wish you that this and every subsequent round of pension distribution, as well as meetings with people who have a significant circle of contacts, pass with respect for self-protection and protection measures, and without any health consequences for you," they said from the INZ.
