Institute for Genocide Research: Attacks on us intensified due to activities on abolishing RS

(Patria) - The Institute for Genocide Research Canada (IGK) has been the subject of attacks since its founding by genocide deniers, paid lobbyists – falsifiers of judicial, scientific and historical facts about the aggression and genocide in BiH, glorifiers of war crimes and war criminals.

The attacks have particularly escalated during the period of intensive activities regarding the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice on the abolition of the entity Republika Srpska (RS), created as a result of genocide, the Institute stated.

Proceeding from the fact that the very existence of the RS entity after a series of genocide verdicts is a reward for the perpetrators of this criminal project, the IGK believes it is important to obtain an advisory opinion from the International Court of Justice on whether the RS entity should be abolished following the genocide verdicts issued by the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Tribunal.

Obtaining the said advisory opinion is a test and challenge of personal and collective activism that must involve the academic, scientific-research and material capacities of BiH and the diaspora. The elimination of evil, such as the RS entity, is beneficial for all peoples and citizens in BiH, especially for Bosnian Serbs, so that all citizens of BiH throughout its territory can be truly free, and open a new opportunity for jointly creating a better state of BiH, the statement reads.

The advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice is therefore a universal idea and practice whose implementation should convey a universal message that genocide does not pay, that a creation responsible for genocide cannot survive.

“Truth and justice are integral and most important parts of the future of a better BiH and all its citizens and peoples. The motive of the Institute's struggle for truth and justice is not hatred of the other and different, but freeing the victim from fear through a culture of remembrance, in the name of a better future. Because freeing the victim from fear through a culture of remembrance is a human and divine right that demands punishment for criminals, and for good people, paving the way to a better, happier, more humane life,” the Institute's statement said.
