INSTITUTIONAL PERSECUTION OF RETURNERS: How RS policies know the attack on the Memiševics is not motivated by nationality, but don't know who the attacker is?!

By: Rasim Belko

In an attempt to hide the position of non-Serb population in the RS entity, especially during attacks on Bosniaks or Croats, the authorities of the smaller Bosnian-Herzegovinian entity resort to manipulating the truth.

When they persecute Bosniak and Croat residents of RS through entity bodies like the RS MUP and other institutions, they use the false fight against terrorism, false protection of the law, or something else as an excuse, which in normal societies is clearly called the persecution of minorities.

Institutional Persecution

However, institutional persecution driven by the political desire for an ethnically clean territory, as a continuation of wartime policies and goals, is one story, a difficult but all too familiar one. A story about which much has been said and a story that causes unanimous condemnation in the other entity. Nothing further from that, because the reaction from the Federation to attacks on Bosniaks and Croats in RS is reduced to begging the OHR, EUFOR, and some other foreigner to protect the elderly who dared to live in RS.

And of course, verbal condemnations, which are unanimous and repetitive, and ultimately provocative towards the victims of the system in the RS entity.

But in the case of the Memišević family, Ajša and Fadil, even that chilling verbal condemnation of the attack was absent. All under the mantra that it was a crime for profit, not for national reasons. The fallacies of the reasons for thinking this way will be discussed later, but first, I must, for the sake of those who still live in RS, call out everyone who should have reacted and did not.

Bosniaks in the Republika Srpska entity are not some Bosniak, illegitimate bastards, who should be treated as an endangered species of nuisance in Sarajevo. They are not adventurers to be armed with cattle and tractors, nor are they all born to work in greenhouses and stables. Such a perception from Sarajevo since 1996 has reduced the mass return to RS to mere traces of the Bosniak and Croat people on 49 percent of the territory.

The reaction from representatives of the international community was also absent, who have thrown billions of dollars and euros, from EU and US taxpayers, down the river of expectations that this will one day be a country where multi-ethnicity will be widespread throughout the land.

Of all the struggles to mitigate the results of ethnic cleansing in the creation of the RS entity, only a vain wish, empty towns and villages, and a few old men and women remain. What actually remains is what was planned by internationally condemned criminals.

The institutions founded by those criminals also remain. Such institutions are now dominant in carrying out the persecution of the non-Serb population in the RS entity. And here we return to the question of how the RS MUP and the politicians there and here know that the attack on the Memiševićs was not motivated by national hatred and intolerance?

How do they know it was for profit, if after all that, they released the suspected attacker - the thief - within 24 hours? What if the attackers of Ajša and Fadil Memišević are Chetniks, Ravna Gora members who regularly gather in and around Višegrad? What if they are members of SNSD, SDS, PDP, Vukanović's or Konaković's, because I see that Sofović from NIP is also telling the same story as the Serbian MUP.

A Mark of a Difficult Past

I am not a returnee, I am from Višegrad, Sofović will say on some television, commenting on the situation with the Memiševićs. Perhaps he is not a returnee, because it is unlikely that returnees to Višegrad carry the flags of Republika Srpska with the SDS insignia or some other Serbian party. Returnees to Višegrad carry the mark of a difficult past, persecution, murders, and the fear that the fate of their loved ones will not be repeated now. As it was repeated for the Memiševićs. And for numerous others throughout the smaller entity.

And the fate of arrests and mistreatment has been repeated, about which we have written on several occasions. And there is no doubt that the persecution of Bosniak and Croat returnees will continue, because behind this persecution there is no profit motive, nor any petty thief or criminal.

Behind these attacks stands the official policy in RS led by Milorad Dodik and his SNSD, which has been creating an atmosphere of fear, hatred, and tension for decades.

And figures like Bojan Prodan are a perfect mask for them to cover the bloodthirstiness of their plans, conceived on January 9th, which they are still implementing today.

And that everything is systematic is proven by police actions directed at "terrorists" (of course, Bosniaks), after which there are no indictments or they fall. Municipal and other services "terrorize" Bosniaks and Croats who dare to do business where Karadžić and Mladić created the state of the Serbian people.

They killed them, stoned them, shot at them and wounded them with the same intention. Therefore, there should be no doubt that the attack on the Memiševićs was nationally motivated. And the claim that it was for profit cannot stand, because the MUP and the Prosecutor's Office of East Sarajevo claim that there is no evidence connecting Prodan to the attack in Omeragići near Višegrad.

There is certainly evidence, and it connects someone else, but that evidence clearly does not interest the Prosecutor's Office in East Sarajevo. Why would it interest them, they didn't fight for an RS in which Bosniak Muslims and Croat Catholics would live.

What do they have to look for on Serbian land?
