DF Initiative: Financial Police to Inspect All Public Companies and Institutions

Representatives of the Democratic Front at yesterday's session of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly launched several initiatives. One of them refers to submitting a request to the FBiH Financial Police to conduct a control of the operations of public companies and public institutions founded/co-founded by Sarajevo Canton, with the aim of solving problems, as well as sanctioning any potential unprofessional management, crime and corruption in public companies and public institutions in Sarajevo Canton, reports the Patria news agency.

Also, an initiative was launched to submit a request to the Office for Audit of Institutions in the FBiH to conduct control and carry out a performance audit in public companies founded by Sarajevo Canton, which aims to present independent opinions on budget execution and financial reports, the use of resources and management of state property by the Government, public institutions and public companies in Sarajevo Canton. Through an independent analysis of the current situation and projected needs, it will be determined whether the citizens of Sarajevo Canton receive adequate service for the established price.

The representatives of the Democratic Front also proposed to the Sarajevo Canton Assembly the adoption of a Conclusion instructing the Government of Sarajevo Canton to, within 30 days, prepare and submit to the assembly procedure a Draft Law on Civil Service in Sarajevo Canton.

Cantonal regulations are necessary to complete the work of the civil service in Sarajevo Canton. All conclusions and initiatives were unanimously adopted, the Democratic Front announced.
