Indians successfully landed on the Moon

(Patria) - India has landed its Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft on the Moon, becoming the first country to successfully send its spacecraft to the south pole of the Moon's surface.

India's attempt comes days after Russia's Luna-25 spacecraft, which was also heading for the unexplored south pole, crashed on the Moon.

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) expressed optimism on Tuesday about its Moon mission, stating that everything was going according to plan.

This is India's second attempt to reach the south pole - four years ago, an Indian probe crashed during its final approach.

With this achievement, India has become only the fourth country to achieve a so-called soft landing on the Moon, after the USA, the former Soviet Union, and China.
