Appointment of Suvad Osmanagić to head anti-corruption team protects criminals

Following the proposal to postpone the application of the Law on Suppression of Corruption and Organized Crime, which postpones the establishment of the federal USKOK, and enabling pardons for multiple criminals, the intention of the current Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina to completely prevent a systemic fight against corruption has reached its final act with the appointment of a "senseless" anti-corruption team headed by Prime Minister Fadil Novalić's advisor - Suvad Osmanagić, it was announced from SDP BiH, reports the Patria News Agency.

-Given that this is a person who has a number of criminal charges against him, and has neither moral nor professional qualifications to hold any position in government institutions, let alone in the fight against corruption, this act by the Government shows that we have a government that sees its policy exclusively as the protection of criminals and post-war privatization tycoons.

The formation of such an anti-corruption team is a message of support to all those who are deeply mired in crime and corruption, that they can sleep peacefully for the next three years of this Government's term, without any danger of being prosecuted. At the same time, this is a mockery of the Reform Agenda and the values of the European Union, which the ruling coalition has been invoking for a year of its mandate.

Therefore, we once again warn the Government not to play with such serious matters that are destroying BiH society, and remind them that they have an obligation to implement the set of adopted anti-corruption legal solutions of the previous Government, led by the Social Democratic Party of BiH, which represent one of the biggest reforms since Dayton, and thus ensure mechanisms for an effective fight against this social scourge, it was announced from SDP BiH.
