Appointed Appeals Committee: It will finally be known what will happen with the admission of cadets to the BiH Border Police

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Council of Ministers of BiH today adopted a decision on the appointment of seven members of the Appeals Committee for police officers, which has not existed since May.

Cikotić proposed Samir Rizvo, who was also in the previous convocation, Veljko Lazić from the BiH Border Police, Ljubiša Pandurević from SIPA, Edin Memić from SIPA, Samir Mirvić from DKPT, Željko Bogut from the Ministry of Justice of BiH, and Lidija Markota from the Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH.

The Law on Independent and Supervisory Bodies of the Police Structure of BiH stipulates that five out of seven members must be lawyers, and two do not have to be legal professionals.

The proposal was also prepared for the session on June 23, but was withdrawn for revision before the session. Patria confirmed that some names have been changed, so there are no longer two candidates from DKPT but one.

Due to the non-existence of the Committee, disciplinary proceedings against police officers who committed serious omissions have expired, and the further конкурс procedure for the admission of 150 cadets to the BiH Border Police has been called into question because there was no one to resolve the appeals of candidates who had submitted appeals to the Committee.

With this appointment and the making of decisions on appeals, it should finally be known what will happen with the competition in the BiH Border Police, which is the subject of an investigation by the Prosecutor's Office of BiH. The president of the Commission for the admission of cadets, Rejhan Raković, was arrested a few days after the publication of the initial list, and a large amount of money and lists with names were found with him. In addition to Raković, two more people were arrested and all are in custody, and then in an expansion of the investigation, two more people. One was released after questioning, and the Prosecutor's Office of BiH will decide on the other person arrested yesterday after questioning.
