Imamović on damage to Catholic cemetery: I am shocked, I expect perpetrators to be found as soon as possible

TUZLA, (Patria) - "The news about the damage to the Catholic cemetery in the Veresika settlement has shocked all citizens of Tuzla, where people of all nationalities and religions have lived together for centuries, according to a statement by the Mayor of Tuzla, Jasmin Imamović.

"This is how it will be in Tuzla in the future. I expect the competent authorities to find the perpetrators as soon as possible. I have instructed the city services to conduct an on-site inspection to determine the extent and type of damage to the monuments, and to provide our help and support to the local population in repairing every monument that has been damaged by this heinous act," says Imamović.

We remind you that an unknown person, or persons, desecrated several tombstones and graves at the Veresika Catholic cemetery, located in the Tuzla suburban settlement of Tetima.

An on-site inspection was carried out by officers of the East Police Station, and they are undertaking actions related to finding the suspects. The prosecutor was also informed of the incident, and has qualified the case as damage to another's property.
