SARAJevo, (Patria) - A free concert by the band Crvena Jabuka will be held in Ilidža to mark November 25 - Statehood Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The open-air concert in Rustempašina Street, under the auspices of the Municipality of Ilidža, is just part of the all-day program celebrating one of the most important dates in the history of our homeland.
The prelude to the performance by the cult Sarajevo band, which starts at 8 PM, will be a cultural and entertainment program prepared by elementary schools from the Ilidža municipality. The start of this part of the event, which will offer additional content for the youngest residents of Ilidža, is planned for 2 PM.
- Our biggest motivation to decide to mark Bosnia and Herzegovina's Statehood Day in this way, in addition to all the protocol matters from previous years, is precisely the children and youth. Through this concert and event, we want to show them that Statehood Day is not just some holiday, but one of the most important dates in the history of our homeland - said Nermin Muzur, Mayor of Ilidža Municipality.
Muzur emphasized that he hopes that such and similar events, with which the Municipality of Ilidža plans to mark national holidays in the future, will encourage younger generations to think about true patriotism and how we should love our country, all its riches, and how to treat them correctly.
The Municipality of Ilidža and the Public Institution Cultural Sports and Recreation Center Ilidža, which is the technical organizer, announced that despite the fact that the concert is free, all visitors will have to undergo a security check carried out by a security agency.
Due to the musical spectacle that all residents of Ilidža, as well as all those who decide to visit Ilidža, will enjoy on November 25, the central part of Rustempašina Street will be closed to traffic. The closure on this section of the road from Rustempašin most to the entrance of the terminal will last from November 24 (9:00 PM) to November 26 (7:00 AM), and city traffic will operate according to the regular schedule on the holiday.
The cultural and entertainment event marking Statehood Day, which begins at 2 PM, will be preceded by laying wreaths at the Memorial Ossuary, monument to WWII fighters (Veliki park Ilidža) at 1 PM, while laying wreaths at the Central Memorial dedicated to the fallen soldiers in front of the Ilidža Municipality building is scheduled for 1:15 PM.
A formal session of the Ilidža Municipal Council is scheduled for 1:30 PM.
- I take this opportunity to invite all residents of Ilidža, as well as citizens of Sarajevo Canton, to the Crvena Jabuka concert, which I am convinced will be a true spectacle worthy of the date we are marking, and we have also prepared a surprise - said Mayor Muzur.
