Players of Željo and Sarajevo Handed Over Klas's Donation to the Public Kitchen

On the occasion of World Food Day, October 16, the food industry company Klas d.d. Sarajevo donated two tons of flour to the Public Kitchen of the Red Cross of Canton Sarajevo and the Collective Center in Hrasnica, reports the Patria agency.

The donation was jointly handed over by Josip Projić, Kemal Osmanković, Mersudin Ahmetović, and Krste Velkoski, players of football clubs Željezničar and Sarajevo, thus showing solidarity and unity in this socially responsible action.

- Although we are eternal and bitter rivals on the field, in this action, at Klas's initiative, we were allies. There is nothing more beautiful than helping someone who truly needs it. For the children from the Collective Center, we had special gifts, Klas sweets. The children, I must admit, were most delighted with Sarko cakes. It was a short, but touching gathering - said Krste Velkoski, player of FK Sarajevo.

- We gladly responded to our partner's invitation to participate in such a socially responsible project. It should be the obligation of all sports clubs to support and participate in such and similar projects - said Josip Projić, member of FK Željezničar.

The Public Kitchen of the Red Cross KS prepares about 1,650 meals daily for its users. Currently, 21 families with nine children aged up to 15 live in the Collective Center in Hrasnica.

Users of both these institutions live in difficult material and financial situations and, as they say, Klas's donation will be very significant for them in the upcoming winter period.

Incidentally, World Food Day has been celebrated since 1979 and was established by the member countries of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization.

The goal, among other things, is to raise awareness about the problems of hunger and poverty in the world, but also about solidarity as a way to solve them.
