Igor Crnadak met with Federica Mogherini in Brussels

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Igor Crnadak met during a working visit to Brussels with the Vice-President of the European Commission and High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Minister Crnadak informed High Representative Mogherini that the process of filling out the European Commission's Questionnaire is proceeding at the expected pace and that BiH continues its activities with the aim of achieving candidate status for EU membership by the end of the year. Minister Crnadak informed High Representative Mogherini that BiH continues to implement the Reform Agenda and that the main priorities in 2017 are the fight against corruption, economic development, with a special emphasis on reducing the high unemployment rate.

During the conversation, Minister Crnadak and High Representative Mogherini agreed that the process of European integration is of great importance for the entire region, and that the process of EU enlargement to the Western Balkans will continue despite the numerous challenges facing the EU, such as Brexit, elections in some EU member states, the economic crisis, terrorism, migration, etc.

- Minister Crnadak also discussed with the High Representative the potential revision of BiH's lawsuit against Serbia for genocide, informing her about the possibility that this could be a new source of mutual distrust and tension in BiH, as well as the fact that two members of the Presidency are explicitly against initiating a revision – it is stated in the Ministry's announcement.

During his stay in Brussels, Minister Crnadak held working meetings with the Co-Chair of the Group of Friends of BiH in the European Parliament Jasenko Selimović, Member of the European Parliament Eduard Kukan, President of the European People's Party (EPP) Joseph Daul, and Secretary General of the EPP Antonio Lopez-Isturiz.

At the end of the visit, on Monday evening, a meeting with the permanent rapporteur of the European Parliament Cristian Dan Preda is scheduled.
