Despite company losses, salaries increase: Average wage at BH Telecom 1,726 KM

The average net salary at BH Telecom for June 2015 was 1,726.82 KM, which is 0.22 percent higher than in the same period last year.

This was confirmed by BH Telecom, after DF representative in the FBiH Parliament Mahir Mešalić raised this issue at one of the parliamentary sessions, reports the Patria news agency.

The average salary in this state-owned company is thus almost double the average salary in the Federation of BiH. Interestingly, the management of this company has maintained high salaries, even though the company records losses every year.

Professor at the Faculty of Economics in Sarajevo and federal representative Dženan Đonlagić earlier warned that BH Telecom has recorded a loss of 30 percent over the last five years.

Đonlagić assessed that one of the most profitable public companies in BiH is experiencing a constant decline in revenue because the company is managed by personnel appointed by political parties, rather than those who are qualified for these positions.
