Although the security situation is catastrophic: Ćosić claims police have full control in Sarajevo

For nearly an hour today, Police Commissioner Vahid Ćosić spoke at an emergency session of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly, explaining why he is not to blame in any of the cases for which he was specifically called out, and especially for the drastically deteriorated security situation in the capital of BiH, reports the Patria news agency.

-The allegations that the Government places on the commissioner are not true. I have always informed the minister and the Independent Board, both orally and in writing, about all security-relevant events and my work.

I invite citizens, after such a detailed report, to recognize our activities with police officers, with the aim of tightening and implementing criminal policy in the area of Sarajevo Canton.

Except in incident situations that disturb citizens, the police have absolute, complete and full control at all times. 

Today, or by tomorrow at the latest, I will inform the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of BiH and the Office of the Disciplinary Prosecutor to investigate the responsibility of the Chief Cantonal Prosecutor Dalida Burzić and the acting cantonal prosecutors due to the uncompromising witch hunt against police officers of Sarajevo Canton, said Ćosić from the parliamentary podium.
