IT HAPPENED TOO Konaković finally told the truth: Our country is heading downhill demographically and economically, too fast!

By: Rasim Belko

"Our country is heading downhill demographically and economically. Too fast."

This was stated on Friday at a press conference by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Elmedin Konaković. And that is the only accurate statement from over 90 minutes of the conference.

Yes, Bosnia and Herzegovina is heading downhill on all tracks. Instead of getting to work or resigning if they cannot stop this headlong fall, the leaders of the "Trojka" political project, following Aleksandar Vučić's propaganda notes, are trying to convince the public that all analysts, opposition members, critics, and journalists are liars. And that they, supposedly, are right.

For more than two years, the coalition consisting of People and Justice, SDP, and Our Party has held one-third of the power at the state and federal levels. After this time, they called a sudden, almost emergency press conference to explain to us that things were bad before, so now they are also bad, and they don't understand why we are complaining.

And then, in the same sentence, they say they are putting us on the last European train, that we must jump on, that they have done far more than everyone before them in 10 years! And here they are again in the minefield of political deception. The imposed Prime Minister of the Federation, Nermin Nikšić, ruled both the state and the Federation 10 or 14 years ago. His SDP played key political roles, and he is now boasting about the agreed-upon praise for the past two years, thinking we are all suffering from collective amnesia.

This fast train that Elmedin Konaković is throwing and pushing us onto is an abyss from which the possibility of recovery is questionable. Neurotic Edin Forto (NS) explained this abyss to us perfectly. True, he tried to appear nervously cocky, but on screen, it looked like neurosis. Forto says: "I would borrow much more, the most..." We don't doubt that, because we have never doubted that Forto is a bad politician with even worse visions. It doesn't bother him at all that most EU countries, according to the data he presented, are in debt slavery and closer to the Greek bankruptcy scenario than to reducing debt.

To be honest, even two days later, I don't understand why the ringleaders of "Trojka" called a press conference. If they called it for Nermin Nikšić to wave papers at us, we've already seen that. He waved papers then too, when his leadership set the Federation on fire. And then he talked about how his predecessors were bad, how they were filling pensioners' pockets, building roads... And then, when it all went up in flames, he called the citizens of the Federation drug addicts.

On Friday, he called economic experts who warn about the catastrophic financial policy of the FBiH Government malicious laymen, even though he is a lawyer and clearly understands economics as much as "a mare understands something".

And then Konaković comes out, all beaming, as if he's the last one holding the bank. He dialogically interprets the political rambling about the past well. He is angry that the imposed Nekina government did not complain about the bad predecessors, pulls negotiations in Neum out of the propaganda hat and what Bakir Izetbegović diagnosed then, and then quickly runs to the European Union for the "successful" medal, even though the EU says we are in absolute stagnation…

I wrote long ago, and it always turns out to be true when Konaković speaks, that you just need to listen carefully. Like Zlatko Lagumdžija back in the day. Because they twist and shape emptiness so well that you just have to wait for that one sentence of truth, which, as a rule, is directed against themselves.

And so Konaković arrived at this dry truth: "Our country is heading downhill demographically and economically. Too fast." So, the country that, according to Konaković's praise, has done the most in the last year or two compared to the previous 10, is rapidly declining. A country where SDA no longer rules, but the great leaders of the three-headed pact, cannot move from its place, the economy is constantly being ruined, security is bad, salaries are low, pensions even lower. But, Nekina is to blame for not complaining more about the previous government. Although the HDZ was also part of that previous government, the absolute controller of today's political processes. Back then, it wasn't a controller, but a brake.

I don't know if "Trojka's" PR mentor is the same as Vučić's, but somehow they reminded me of Aco, who after 12 years in power says, "you know, those before us were bad, you know, Đilas..."

What are we going to do about what is bad today, and probably even worse tomorrow? Neither Aco nor the leaders of the three-headed pact have an answer. Or they do, but they don't dare to say it!

Fortunately, unlike the eternal Aco, the three-headed pact has a limited lifespan. The fall begins in a few days, Murphy is going home, and in 2026, they too will be in the past, because I am sure the citizens will not allow Nikšić, Konaković, and Forto to push us to the bottom of the hill. We need to put an X and stop the speeding locomotive of decline!
