Malala Yousafzai also has a message for Donald Trump

Malala Yousafzai condemned Donald Trump's statement about Muslims. The 2014 Nobel Peace Prize laureate stated, according to the BBC, that his comments were full of hatred and that shifting blame to Muslims for terrorism can only mean further radicalization of terrorists, reports the Patria News Agency.

"It is truly tragic when you hear comments that are full of hatred, full of discrimination towards others," Malala told AFP and called on politicians and the media to be more careful.

"If your intention is to stop terrorism, do not try to blame all Muslims for it, because that will not stop terrorists," Malala said yesterday in Birmingham, where the anniversary of the Taliban attack on a school in Peshawar, Pakistan, where more than 150 people, mostly children, were killed, was being commemorated.

Malala Yousafzai is a Pakistani student and children's rights activist. She is known for her activism for girls' rights and the right to education, for which she narrowly escaped death in an attack in 2012.

In 2009, at the age of 11, Malala became known through a BBC News blog in the Urdu language. The BBC published translated texts about her life under Taliban rule. The Taliban attempted to kill her on October 9, 2012. They stopped the bus on the road in which Malala was traveling to school. After asking to "identify Malala Yousafzai," the girl identified herself, and then they shot her in the head and neck.

She received emergency care in Pakistan and was then transferred to England for further treatment. A titanium plate was implanted during surgery to cover a hole in her skull and restore her hearing. Following the incident, Pakistani authorities decided to open schools named after Malala Yousafzai for poor children, writes Index.
