Joe Biden also received the coronavirus vaccine

(Patria) - Newly elected US President Joe Biden received the coronavirus vaccine tonight, as announced earlier. Biden was vaccinated at "Christiana Care" hospital in Newark, Delaware, following the example of Vice President Mike Pence who did so a few days earlier.

Biden's vaccination occurred on the same day that doses of a second vaccine, produced by Moderna, arrived in US states, joining Pfizer in creating America's arsenal against the COVID-19 pandemic, which has so far claimed more than 317,000 lives in the United States and fundamentally changed life around the world.

"I don't want to get ahead of myself, but I want to make sure we show the American people that it is safe to take the vaccine," Biden stated.
