Search Continues for Escaped Sejfović, Police Seek Assistance

Police continued their search today for Amel Sejfović, who escaped from the Sarajevo Correctional Facility seven days ago.

Police officers armed with long guns have occupied the wider area of Visoko towards Kiseljak in search of the escaped detainee from the Sarajevo Correctional Facility, Amel Sejfović, reports the Patria agency.

Sejfović escaped from the Sarajevo Correctional Facility on Sunday at gunpoint, after which several individuals suspected of aiding his escape were arrested. Six individuals are in custody, while an accomplice who was waiting for him on a motorcycle after his escape is still being sought. One person arrested during this operation was released.

Those familiar with the terrain state that it is inaccessible and very difficult to navigate through the dense forest.

Police continue to ask citizens to report any information they have about the suspect. According to the description on the wanted notice, Sejfović is about 190 centimeters tall, of robust build, weighing around 110 kilograms, with long, slicked-back hair tied in a ponytail.

Sejfović was accused of attempted murder of Davor Milić in 2009, property damage in 2013, and the robbery of Raiffeisen bank with accomplices in the Sarajevo neighborhood of Ilidža in 2015, during which a cyclist was killed.
