Hypo bank: We offered the best solutions for the Swiss franc problem in BiH

Just like the gathering of members of the Association Swiss Franc in Banja Luka, today's gathering of UKK Swiss Franc is an ignoring of final verdicts rendered in lawsuits filed by clients in BiH, as well as the efforts the bank continuously invests from its own funds to resolve the repayment issues of these loans, Hypo bank stated after today's protests in Sarajevo organized by citizens who have Swiss franc loans with this bank, reports the Patria news agency.

The associations, according to Hypo bank, by manipulating data on the number of clients, outcomes and number of lawsuits and verdicts, as well as through hate speech and slander, are deceiving the public and exerting direct influence on the judiciary.

- We remind that in the Federation of BiH, two second-instance verdicts have been rendered: one entirely in favor of the bank, and another that overturned the first-instance verdict in favor of the client due to violations of procedural and substantive law provisions, which resulted in an incorrect and unlawful first-instance verdict.  

Confident in their stance that loans tied to a currency clause are legal, the bank offered the Association arbitration back in 2013, through which the issue of the legality of the currency clause and the existence of foreign exchange risk for the bank could be systematically resolved within six months. The Association rejected the offer.  

Additionally, some clients continue to calculate and wait for developments regarding the CHF exchange rate, expecting someone else to solve the problem and unjustly blaming the bank. We are aware of the problems faced by users of loans with a currency clause, but the bank, as well as our creditors and other clients using other bank products and services, do not approve of this stance.

Precisely because we understand the problem, and given the fact that the bank itself suffers damage due to irregular repayment of funds it provided to clients through loans, the bank continuously offers clients relief and, compared to the region, we have offered the best and financially visible solutions for clients – the statement from Hypo bank reads.
