Houthis claim to have hit a US warship with a missile

(Patria) - Yemeni Houthis announced a military operation against US warships in the Gulf of Aden and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, said the military spokesman of the Ansar Allah movement Yahya Saria on Telegram.

"Today (Wednesday) there was a clash with several destroyers and US warships, which tried to protect two American commercial ships, in the Gulf of Aden and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.

The result was a direct hit on a US warship. Two American commercial
ships were forced to withdraw and return," Saria said, TASS agency reported late last night.

According to the statement, the conflict "lasted more than two hours." The Houthis used "several ballistic missiles," and some of them "reached their targets" despite US attempts to intercept them, it added.
