Croatian Police Attempted to Smuggle Refugees into Serbia Across the Danube

Croatian police attempted last night to smuggle a group of refugees into Serbia across Šarengradska Ada on the Danube near Bačka Palanka, reports the Patria News Agency.

Serbian police managed to prevent the transfer of a group of women and children to our territory. Boats with spotlights and rotating lights were used in this operation.

A source for "Blic" states that estimates indicate Croatia will continue to group refugees in that area, which is why necessary measures will be taken on the Serbian side. Serbian police are constantly monitoring that part of the Danube border.

- According to operational intelligence, there are about 3,500 refugees in that section on the Croatian side, mostly women and children, whom they will try to transfer to Serbia during the night - the Blic source states.
