
(Patria) - Croatian police received a report on Saturday around 11 PM about a missing foreign national, who had gone in the direction of Jasenice (Zadar County) in the afternoon.
Police officers, with the assistance of a tracking dog in the area of Jasenice, Zrmanja canyon, found the lifeless body of a male person at the bottom of the Pariževačka glavica viewpoint at a depth of about 150 meters around 2 AM during the night.
An investigation was conducted at the scene yesterday, and members of the Croatian Mountain Rescue Service (HGSS) participated in the extraction of the deceased from the bottom of the canyon along with police officers.
The body of the deceased, a 46-year-old Hungarian national, was examined by a coroner, and an autopsy has been ordered.
No elements of a criminal offense have been confirmed so far, and upon completion and determination of all circumstances, the police will inform the competent state attorney's office about the incident.
