Gordana Buljan Flander, director of the Polyclinic for the Protection of Children of the City of Zagreb, reacted to today's report that a boy J.K. (14), a ward of Zagreb's Children's Home A. G. Matoš, had been periodically raped over the past two years by a certain 17-year-old, reports the Patria news agency.
It is not entirely clear whether the abuser is also a ward of that institution or a ward of the Lopača Psychiatric Hospital, where the abused young man occasionally stayed.
All allegations will be investigated by the competent police department. According to the unfortunate young man's statements, several 'older home residents', in addition to sexual abuse, on several occasions forcibly tattooed him with a needle and ink on multiple parts of his body without his consent, and all of this was accompanied by daily beatings and forced drug consumption.
