Strait of Hormuz closed to ships from the US, Israel, European countries and other Western allies

(Patria) - Iran's Revolutionary Guard announced that the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world's most important maritime passages, is closed to ships from the United States, Israel, European countries and other Western allies.

In a statement carried by Iranian state television IRIB, it is stated that Iran has the right to control passage through the strait in wartime conditions.

"We have previously stated that, based on international laws and resolutions, the Islamic Republic of Iran will have the right to control passage through the Strait of Hormuz in times of war," the Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated.

They added that ships belonging to the US, Israel, European states and their allies will be targeted.

"If we spot them, they will certainly be hit," warned the IRGC.

The Strait of Hormuz has been practically closed since the US and Israel launched a joint military operation against Iran on Saturday.

As a result, oil prices have surged, and analysts warn that disruptions could seriously shake the global economy.
