Hollande at the site of the bloodiest attack: I wanted to come among the people and tell them we will be merciless

French President Francois Hollande announced the declaration of a state of emergency and border closures in an address to the nation, reports the Patria News Agency.

All emergency services have been mobilized, police officers have had their leave cancelled, and hospitals have called in their staff to cope with the reception of victims.

Hollande visited a police command center near the Bataclan and said that France would be merciless towards those who carried out the attack.

-I wanted to come among the people who witnessed these horrific scenes, to tell them that we will fight this battle and be merciless, Hollande said in front of the hall.

Although no one has officially confirmed it yet, the media are writing that these are apparently coordinated attacks on a country that is a co-founder of the coalition against terrorism, carrying out airstrikes against the Islamic State together with the Americans, and which was on high alert for terrorist attacks ahead of the global climate summit in Paris at the end of the month.
