Will the Council of Ministers appoint a team to monitor the Revised Strategy and the NATO Commission!?

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina will try for the third time today to appoint a Supervisory Body for monitoring the implementation of the Revised State Strategy for dealing with war crimes cases.

That supervisory body is obliged to report to the Council of Ministers four times a year on the processing of war crimes, and the main goal of the strategy is the processing of war crimes by 2023. The Council of Ministers has postponed the appointment of this body twice at its sessions.

After information appeared in the public that Milorad Kojić, director of the Research Center for War Crimes of Republika Srpska, should be appointed to this body, associations of victims reacted sharply, opposing his appointment. Namely, the associations stated that someone who denies genocide and undermines the verdicts of the International Tribunal in The Hague cannot be appointed to this team.

The agenda of today's session will also include the Proposal of the Decision on amendments and additions to the Decision on a multi-year capital project - purchase, reconstruction, adaptation and equipping of facilities for diplomatic-consular missions of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Proposal of the Decision on the establishment of a Working Group for the preparation of the BiH Strategy for the Prevention and Fight against Terrorism (for the period 2021-2026) and the Proposal of the Action Plan for the implementation of the Strategy should also be considered.

State ministers should also discuss the Proposal of the Decision on allocating space to the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the purpose of establishing a joint contact point for cooperation with EUROPOL, and the Proposal of the Decision on establishing a Commission for the integration process of Bosnia and Herzegovina into NATO.

The agenda of the session includes the consideration of the Document "Implementation of the Reform Program of Bosnia and Herzegovina 2019 - 2020" as well as Information on the proceedings before the European Court of Human Rights and the proposal for an amicable settlement in the case "Zijadić v. Bosnia and Herzegovina".
