Will the police and other unions in Bosnia and Herzegovina join protests: Return salary bases to 535 KM

(Patria) - Following the announcement of the return of the salary base of 498.00 KM, all in connection with the Budget Proposal for this year 2021 after the held session of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the postponement of the agenda item on returning the salary base to the next session of the Council of Ministers, Ramo Rustemović, president of the Union of the Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices of Bosnia and Herzegovina, spoke out.

Rustemović held a meeting with the Union of Police Bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina and their union president Dragan Krvavac and the president of the SIPA Union Edin Kahrimanović, and they took the following stance.

"We demand the return of the base to the amount of 535.00 KM, which has been reduced for more than ten years. There is no salary increase here, and no special financial resources are needed in the budget of the Council of Ministers, only that what was taken and reduced is returned. In all entities and cantons, salaries for employees have increased, while ours have been reduced. In this case, only political will and desire are needed to return what was taken; there are no formal-legal obstacles.

The Agency for Medicines and police agencies are very important institutions in terms of the safety of citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, drug safety, and citizen safety, and should be a priority for politicians. If the return of the salary base of 535.00 KM, which they continuously promise us, does not happen, protests and all other union activities are possible, which will not endanger the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who are our priority," said Rustemović.
